Helping new home owners enjoy their gardens
Why get a garden survey?
-
We provide a list of which plants you have in your garden. That’s a good start. We’ll then advise on if they’re in the right place and how to look after them. Plants, like people, need the right conditions to flourish.
-
Soil is the engine of your garden. A survey will provide you with a soil analysis which can form the basis of any amendments or improvements needed to best support whatever you choose to grow.
-
Any trees nearby? Or shade from buildings? Your garden is part of the larger mosaic of surrounding gardens. What’s growing next door may tell you something about your conditions.
-
How does the sun and shade travel across your garden? Do you have any troublesome areas? When you understand your garden conditions you’re in a good place to plant wisely and fully realise your garden’s potential!

-
Ongoing care
You can look after your garden based on your management plan or you can talk to us about any bigger changes you’d like to make.
The process
-
Before or soon after you've moved in we arrange a visit which involves two main activities:
- An audit of the existing planting: trees, shrubs and flowering plants
- An appraisal of any hard landscaping structures e.g. decking or pond -
Based on the survey we provide you with:
- A visual plan of the garden with plant locations and identification
- A management plan with care instructions for each plant and the overall health of the garden
- General recommendations for how to maximise the potential of what’s in the garden plus ideas on what you might want to change -
During the visit we'll also discuss any changes that you may want to make which can be factored into the survey work.
If you move in winter we'll book in a second visit in spring or summer to assess all the new growth and complete the plant audit. -
You have the option to subscribe to a 12 month management tool which gives you seasonal and monthly care advice bespoke to your garden and your plants.
